Denbighshire County Council has launched a consultation on the H-Bridge/ Rhyl and surrounding streets to make it a safer and more inviting area for walking, wheeling and cycling.

Sustrans, on behalf of the council, is now seeking feedback from the people that live, work and travel in the area who could benefit from improvements to the H-Bridge and the surrounding streets.

The H-Bridge is located in the West of Rhyl, connecting Marsh Road to Warren Road and Ffynnongroew Road.

The scheme aims at upgrading the bridge itself as well as creating safer and easier links into the local community and the surrounding network for walking, wheeling and cycling. Funding for the improvements has been secured from Welsh Government and Transport for Wales.

Members of the public can view the online consultation and complete a survey by visiting the project website hosted by Sustrans: https://sustrans.info/ActiveTravelHBridge

The survey will be available online for six weeks until 15 April 2023.

In addition, four public drop-in sessions will be held on 8th March 2023 at the Wellington Road Community Centre at 2:30-4pm and 5:30-7pm and on 9th March 2023 at the Ffordd Las Community Centres at 2:30-4pm and 5:30-7pm. The sessions will provide an opportunity for residents to meet with the project team, ask questions, and provide feedback on the proposed improvements.

The council is committed to promoting active travel and sustainable transportation options in the region, and this consultation is an important step towards achieving this goal.

Paper copies, an easy read or a large print version of the consultation can be obtained by contacting Sustrans Cymru via email: Rhyl@sustrans.org.uk or by writing to Sustrans Cymru, One Canal Parade, Dumballs Road, CF10 5BF Cardiff.
