New Affordable Homes and Business Spaces Planned for Rhyl Town Centre

A major redevelopment project is set to transform part of Rhyl town centre, bringing new affordable homes, modern commercial units and fresh investment to the area.

The scheme is part of Denbighshire County Council’s long-term vision to revitalise Rhyl by encouraging more people to live in the town centre, supporting local businesses and creating a vibrant, sustainable community.

Alongside providing much-needed affordable housing, the development will include new commercial spaces aimed at small businesses. The council hopes this will increase footfall, strengthen the local economy and encourage more activity throughout the day and into the evening.

The project will also deliver energy-efficient homes by bringing existing buildings back into use, helping to reduce carbon emissions while making the best use of the town’s existing infrastructure.

Councillor Rhys Thomas, Denbighshire County Council’s Lead Member for Housing and Communities, said the development represents another important step in the ongoing regeneration of Rhyl. He said the project will create quality affordable homes, provide opportunities for local businesses and help build a thriving town centre that benefits residents, visitors and future generations.

The redevelopment also supports the council’s Housing and Homelessness Strategy by increasing the supply of affordable housing while contributing to wider goals of improving the local environment, supporting construction jobs and supply chains, enhancing biodiversity and encouraging active travel.

Construction is expected to begin later this year once the procurement process has been completed.
