Rhyl Set to Shine with Spectacular Christmas Lights Switch-On Event

Rhyl Town Centre will come alive with festive sparkle later this month as the community gathers for the annual Rhyl Christmas Lights Switch-On — a free, family-friendly event filled with entertainment, laughter, and plenty of Christmas spirit.

Taking place on Saturday, November 22nd, the celebrations begin at 2pm, promising an afternoon packed with live performances, magical moments, and festive fun for all ages.

Visitors can expect a dazzling line-up of entertainment throughout the afternoon. Highlights include the incredible Glowbot, a futuristic light-up performer sure to wow the crowds, and free face painting for children eager to add a touch of colour to their festive look. A giant snowglobe will also be on-site — the perfect spot for families and friends to snap a memorable Christmas photo.

Music lovers will be treated to live sounds from the Rhyl Youth Marching Band, while a DJ keeps the atmosphere buzzing with classic Christmas hits. Children can look forward to appearances from festive costumed characters, Mr Magico’s balloon modelling, and a heart-warming performance from Enchanting Entertainment’s Children’s Choir.

As the afternoon builds towards its sparkling finale, all eyes will turn to the stage for the official lights switch-on ceremony. This year, the honour will be shared by the cast of Rhyl Pavilion’s pantomime, Sleeping Beauty, alongside Rhyl Town Mayor, Cllr Alexander Walker. The pantomime stars will also host a special meet and greet, giving fans the chance to snap a photo and share some festive cheer.
