Denbighshire Flying Start Celebrates 20 Years with Free Family Drop-In Event in Rhyl
Families in Rhyl are invited to celebrate 20 years of the Flying Start programme in Denbighshire at a special free drop-in event next month.
Hosted by the Denbighshire County Council Flying Start team, the event will take place at the 1891 Restaurant on Wednesday 4 March, from 10am to 2pm.
The session will give local families the opportunity to meet a range of services that support parents, carers, babies and young children across the area. Representatives from various family-focused organisations will be on hand to offer advice, answer questions and provide information about the help available locally.
Attendees will also be able to speak directly with the council’s Flying Start team to learn more about the programme and discover child-friendly activities taking place in the community. The event aims to ensure families are aware of the support on offer and how to access it.
Denbighshire Flying Start is a Welsh Government-funded initiative designed to support children from birth until their fourth birthday, along with their parents or carers, who live in eligible postcode areas. The programme focuses on giving young children the strongest possible foundation for future growth, development and learning.
Councillor Diane King, Lead Member for Education, Children and Families, encouraged families to attend.
She said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for local families to find out what support is available to them. If you have a child under four, I would encourage you to check your eligibility and see what additional help you may be able to access.
“Our team will also be available to signpost families to local child-friendly activities and services.”
The drop-in session is free to attend, and no booking is required.
