New Community Support Hub ‘The VIBE Station’ Officially Launches in Rhyl

Working Denbighshire has officially opened the doors to The VIBE Station, a pioneering new hub designed to bridge the gap between mental wellbeing and employment opportunities.

The grand opening, held on Friday, 29 May, saw over 120 residents, local councillors, and service providers gather in Rhyl to celebrate a fresh approach to community support. The VIBE Station — which stands for Visual Integrated Base for Employment — serves as an accessible “one-stop-shop” for residents at any stage of their career or personal development journey.

A Focus on Wellbeing and Progression

Unlike traditional employment offices, The VIBE Station prioritizes confidence-building and mental health as the foundation for professional success. During the launch, attendees engaged in:

• Collaborative Art: Building a LEGO recreation of Monet’s Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies.

• Creative Expression: “Ready, Steady, Craft” painting workshops.

• Self-Reflection: Journaling corners designed to introduce simple daily wellbeing habits.

“The launch is a vital first step in introducing a space that focuses on wellbeing as part of the journey towards employment,” said Melanie Evans, Principal Manager for Strategic Employment.

Investing in Rhyl’s Future

Councillor Jason McLellan, Leader of Denbighshire County Council, described the hub as a “major milestone” for the region’s economic growth and efforts to tackle deprivation. By bringing multiple services under one roof, the station aims to provide a more “joined-up” support system for the community.

How to access support: The VIBE Station is now open and offering a regular programme of wellbeing sessions, training, and 1-to-1 guidance. Services are free for all Denbighshire residents aged 16 and over.
