Rhyl rail passengers are being warned to plan ahead this weekend as essential track work triggers a total closure of the line through Rhyl.
Starting in the early hours of Saturday, June 6, until early Monday, June 8, no trains will run between Chester and Llandudno Junction. Network Rail engineers will be working around the clock, with a major focus on replacing aging track sleepers right here in Rhyl on Saturday night.
What this means for your weekend travel:
No Trains Through Rhyl: Services from Manchester Airport, Cardiff, and Liverpool will terminate early at Chester. Eastbound trains from Holyhead will stop at Llandudno Junction.
Buses Replace Trains: Rail replacement buses will run through Rhyl roughly every 30 minutes on Saturday and every hour on Sunday.
Alternative Bus Routes: Valid train tickets will also be accepted on standard local Arriva buses.
Rhyl Station will remain open and fully staffed for anyone needing tickets or travel advice. However, Transport for Wales is urging everyone to check their schedules before heading out, as the replacement buses will add significant time to your journey.
